I only had a week to get it on the market. I had gotten several other quotes and all were unable to start for at least a month. Best Hardwood Floors came the same day I called them. They were professional, courteous, and nice. Their quote was less than the other companies I called and they started the same day. Within hours after I hired them, their whole crew was at my house. They finished in 3 days and my floors are absolutely beautiful.

Ivan and Lyubomir were very concerned that I was happy with the color, finish, and the care they took. They even put several test colors and finishes on the floor so I could see them before they applied them. My floors look brand new (even better than new) and the cost was exactly as they quoted.

I wouldn't  hesitate to recommend Best Hardwood floors to anyone. They really are the BEST!

TLDR: 3 yrs after, floor still looks good, would hire again.
I did my research and chose Best Hardwood Floors to refinish my oak floors. They had so many great reviews. I evaluated any negative reviews and concluded that they were caused mostly by communication issues, not performance problems.

Lyobov came and discussed my needs. We had one room with LOTS of stains due to a cat that had many out-of-the-box accidents before she passed from cancer. Lyobov offered to stain our floors a dark color to cover these, but in the end we decided to have him replace the boards and keep the honey oak color. This means multiple short lengths of wood to patch the damaged area, not replace entire boards for an invisible repair. This bothered me at the time, but I don’t even notice it now. Sorry, I don’t have any photos of the floor before.

His team showed up on time, finished on time and did what they said they would. They were easy to get ahold of and worked with me to change the contract and get color-matched floor vents at short notice after I changed my mind.

My oak floors were refinished 3 years ago, and I waited to give this review to see how they held up. We have 2 to 3 big dogs (Golden, Corgi, and a part-time lab cross grand-dog) along with 4 cats. Many friends told me not to bother getting the floors done since they would be scratched up in no time. We chose a flat finish (not mat), and yes, there are some scratches, but not bad, and the flat finish was perfect for us. We have carpet only in the living room.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I confess, I don’t usually care to submit online reviews of work that I expect to be accomplished professionally, and for other customers, whom I think need to do their own research and come to their own conclusions.

But after completing a difficult project with Best Hardwood Floors, I wish to make an exception. I don’t think that the word Best is superlative enough [with apologies to my English teacher]. This team is Beyond Best. Super Best? World’s Best? Galactic Best?

I had a difficult situation with a badly damaged, but previously beautiful bamboo floor, and had been trying for over a year to have even one other company just come and look at the floor. Instead, nothing but unanswered “Contact us” forms and lame excuses; and in one case I was given a square foot-derived estimate, but without any knowledge of the specific nature of the project. Perhaps, one solution fits all?

One final, by now desperate attempt got me in touch with Best Hardwood Floors. They showed up the same day to inspect the project. They demonstrated immediately that they were familiar with bamboo restoration and developed an estimate on the spot. Although the number was higher than I had hoped, they stood by the correctness of their estimate. I have learned the hard way: don’t haggle with your brain surgeon and don’t haggle with your flooring restoration team.

That attitude actually paid off in the end. A surprising amount of time was spent just prepping the house for the upcoming sanding. Trim was removed; doors were taken off; everything was wrapped in plastic, even the cat. The sanding itself was accomplished in three or four gradations and in the end three coats of finish were applied. Because they use a quick-drying commercial grade product, at the end of each day I was permitted to walk on the floor, so that I didn’t need to find another accommodation for a week. Savings right there.

The project was completed today and in less time than had been allowed; and the floor looks even better than when it was brand new.

So, to answer the inevitable “Would you recommend this company to friends and family?” my suggestion is, based on what I’ve observed, you decide. But don’t be a fool.
